Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between independence and self-adjustment in overseas students. This study uses a quantitative approach. This research was conducted on overseas students aged 18-25 years with a total of 135 people consisting of 100 women and 35 men. Measuring tools used in this study are the scale of independence and self-adjustment scale. Data analysis was performed using the pearson product moment analysis technique with the statistical program SPSS v.16 for windows. The results of research data analysis show that there is no relationship between independence and self-adjustment in overseas students with a significance value of 0.234 and a correlation value of 0.103. These findings have important implications for designing deeper support and intervention programs for overseas students, as well as exploring more deeply into other factors affecting adjustment in an increasingly diverse context. Although not in accordance with the expected hypothesis, this study provides valuable insights in understanding the adjustment of foreign students in more depth.
