Abstract

This research departs from the phenomenon of former drug users who have relapses of increasing signs of an appropriate solution to the problems at hand. This study aims to determine the meaning of a former drug convict's life. The informants in this study were the subjects themselves, namely BY and FR. This research is a field research that is carried out directly on the object under study to obtain the required data and which is related to the formulation of the problem, namely: the meaning of life by BY and FR after leaving the Penitentiary. Data collection using observation and interviews. The data analysis used a qualitative descriptive method, namely processing the data obtained during the study and then systematically interpreted it into reports according to the actual conditions. The results of this study indicate that in the life of BY and FR after leaving the Penitentiary there is a meaning in life, this can be seen from the fulfillment of the value of the source of the meaning of life from Frankl and Bastaman, these values are: Creative Values, Experiential Values, and Hopeful Values.
