Abstract

A police officer is required to have an attitude of self-control in daily activities because the work routine is not limited to increasing stress levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-control on work stress on members of the police in Malang City Police. This type of quantitative research with simple linear regression techniques using SPSS version 20.0. The research sample was 90 members of Malang City Police. It was concluded that there was an effect of self-control on the work stress of the Malang Police, Malang City of 0.397, namely 39.7%. The remaining 60.3% other variables that affect job stress are not examined by researchers. Self-control members of Malang Police, Malang City are in the medium category, work stress is in the high category. Suggestions for future researchers are the limitations of researchers to investigate deeper and more factors. So that many measuring tools can be generated from several other factors such as political pressure, lack of time with family, and the public view. In addition, because there are many sub-divisions or work units at Polersta Malang Kota that have different workloads so that the level of work stress is also different, so that further researchers need to differentiate between this according to the unit or section on the subject to be studied.
