Abstract
During the COVID-19 pandemic, adherence to health protocols is very much needed. Given the spread of Covid-19 cases can occur quickly. Awareness of the importance of complying with this health protocol is influenced by one's belief in the control of one's health. So the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health locus of control on public compliance with health protocols during the new normal period. The participants in this study were people from the city and district of Malang aged 18-40 years with a total of 100 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study is quota sampling, using a scale of health locus of control and community compliance with health protocols as research measuring tools. This study uses a simple linear regression analysis technique. The results of simple linear regression analysis have a significance value of the health locus of control variable of 0.000<0.05, on the variable of community compliance with health protocols. From this value, it can be concluded that the hypothesis that there is a significant effect between health locus of control on public compliance with health protocols during the new normal period is accepted. Based on the linear regression test table, the value of R Square shows several 12.5%. From these results, it can be concluded that the magnitude of the influence of the health locus of the control variable is 12.5% on the variable of community compliance with health protocols, while 87.5% is influenced by factors other.
