Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between work ability and work readiness in final year students at University of Merdeka Malang in facing the world of work after students graduate from college. This research uses a quantitative research design with a correlational approach. The population in this study were undergraduate students who were currently pursuing final education and studying at University of Merdeka Malang. Determining the sample size used the Slovin formula with the Accidental Sampling method and obtained a sample size of 326 participants. The measuring instruments used are the work skills scale (α= 0.964) and the work readiness scale (α= 0.898). The data analysis technique uses simple linear regression analysis. The results of data analysis show that the regression coefficient value is 0.874 (p= 0.000) < 0.05. Based on these results, it is concluded that there is a relationship between work skills and work readiness. This research can provide an overview of the importance of work skills in increasing work readiness in students, so attention is needed regarding things that can support work skills and increase work readiness in students to face an increasingly developing and competitive world of work.
