Abstract

Final year students face various challenges and obstacles, especially during the process of writing their thesis. A decline in meaning in life is one of the phenomena experienced by students working on their thesis. Meaning in life is essential for these students, as its level, whether high or low, affects the process of completing their thesis. Enhancing meaning in life can be achieved through prosocial behavior. This study aims to examine the relationship between prosocial behavior and meaning in life among students working on their thesis. The sample was determined using the snowball sampling technique, with a total of 400 participants. Data collection tools included a prosocial behavior scale with a reliability (0,885) and a meaning in life scale with a reliability (0,818), and tested the hypothesis using regression analysis. The results indicate that prosocial behavior influences meaning in life by 23,7%. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between prosocial behavior and meaning in life among students working on their thesis. This research contributes to strengthening theories and serves as an additional reference on the importance of prosocial behavior in enhancing meaning in life, particularly among thesis writing students.
