Abstract

This research aims to scientifically examine the relationship between sibling rivalry and emotional regulation in adolescents. The research sample was 100 teenagers. The sampling technique was determined using purposive sampling. Sibling rivalry was measured using the sibling rivalry scale and emotional regulation was measured using the emotion regulation scale. decision making technique using the Pearson product moment test. The results of the hypothesis test show that there is a relationship between sibling rivalry and emotional regulation in adolescents with a correlation coefficient of -0.358 and a p value (Sig.) 0.000 < 0.05. The results show that there is a negative influence of sibling rivalry on emotional regulation in adolescents, meaning that the higher the sibling rivalry experienced by adolescents, the lower the emotional regulation experienced by adolescents. On the other hand, the lower the sibling rivalry, the higher the emotional regulation in adolescents. This shows that the hypothesis proposed by the author is acceptable
