Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between phubbing behavior and social interaction on college students in Malang City. Design of this study used a quantitative approach, which sampling method was accidental sampling. The sample in this study were college students in the city of Malang, n= 384. The results of the analysis using the Product Moment Correlation Analysis method, obtained a significant value between the variable phubbing behavior and social interaction of college student, it was r = -346 with a p value of 0.000. The results of this study indicate that there was a significant negative relationship between phubbing behavior and social interaction of college students in Malang City. It is interpreted that the higher the phubbing behavior, the lower the social interaction among college students, and vice versa.
