Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the dimensions of parenting and juvenile delinquent behavior in Depok City. This research method uses quantitative with a cross sectional approach, with a total of 100 respondents. Sampling determination using non probability sampling technique with purposive sampling method. The measuring instruments used were the parenting scale (α=0.708) and the juvenile delinquency scale (α=0.911). Data analysis technique using chi square test. The results of 100 respondents, 82 respondents (82%) had a high delinquency category and 12 respondents (12%) had a low delinquency category, with democratic parenting 15 respondents (15%), authoritarian parenting 67 respondents (67%), and permissive parenting 18 respondents (18%). Based on the results of the chi square test, the two variables with a p value of 0.000 <0.05. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the dimensions of parenting and juvenile delinquent behavior. This study has implications for efforts to provide information aimed at increasing parents' awareness of the impact of their parenting. Knowledge about proper parenting can help parents reduce the risk of delinquency in adolescents.
