Abstract
Many students feel scared in the process, causing their own stress and creating various stress copings. Thesis writing requires independently finding solutions to the problems faced, including; difficulty finding literature, limited funds, not used to writing in the sense of writing scientific papers, less familiar with scheduled work systems with such strict timings and problems with supervisors It is important for students, especially those who are writing a thesis, have the ability to manage stress well so as not to feel stressed. Based on research conducted by Kountul, et al (2018) when experiencing stress. Based on research data Puteri (2014) shows that women who have low stress coping levels are around 55%. Smet (1994), mentioned that coping stress can be influenced by personality characteristics which include general emotional stability, hardiness, immunity and resilience.
This study aims to find out whether the level of resilience affects the coping stress of female students who are compiling a thesis at the Merdeka University of Malang. In this study, researchers used the scale method in their data collection. The research design used is a non-experimental design where the subjects in the study do not get intervention (Heryana, 2020). In conducting data analysis, researchers will be assisted by the SPSS program. The results of the calculation of the coefficient regression above show that the value of the constant coefficient is 19.822 the coefficient of the free variable (X) is 1.046. So that the regression equation Y = 19.822 + 1.046X was obtained, the value of the constant explained that when resilience is worth 0, then coping stress has a value of 19.822. Furthermore, the positive value (1.046) contained in the regression coefficient, where each increase in one unit of resilience variable will cause an increase in coping stress of 1,046.
