Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship permissive parenting with academic procrastination in students of SMP Negeri 1 Pucuk Lamongan. Research method uses a correlational quantitative approach to find the extent of the relationship between two variables, namely permissive parenting with academic procrastination. Sampling determination using stratified proportional technique so that 86 out of 641 students were obtained as respondents. The research measuring instrument used permissive parenting scale from Baumrind's theory (α: 0.946) and academic procrastination scale from Ferrari's theory (α: 0.776). The study used simple linear regression analysis techniques with the results of data analysis showing a beta coefficient value of 0.402 (p = <0.001) <0.05 so it can be concluded that permissive parenting has a positive relationship with academic procrastination. This research has implications for efforts to deal with academic procrastination in students of SMP Negeri 1 Pucuk Lamongan by starting to pay attention to factors that cause academic procrastination.
