Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of perceptions of online learning on the emotional intelligence of early adolescents in Balikpapan. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the criteria of early adolescents in Balikpapan aged 12-14 years and attending formal education. The number of subjects in this study were 100 subjects. The method of collecting data at this writing uses a differential semantic scale and a Likert scale. Test the validity of the scale using the Pearson Product Moment with R Table 0.320 and reliability is measured using the Cronbach alpha coefficient with a reliability result on the online learning perception variable of 0.968 and an emotional intelligence variable reliability result of 0.947. The hypothesis test was carried out using a simple linear regression test giving an influence of 14%, it can be concluded that there is an influence of perceptions of online learning on the emotional intelligence of early adolescents in Balikpapan. Thus the hypothesis in this study is accepted. Suggestions are addressed to early adolescents in Balikpapan, namely being able to manage their emotions by improving their perceptions of online learning. Cognitively, by deepening knowledge to perceive online learning methods. Affectively, you can feel positive and negative things when following online learning methods. Conatively, having readiness to act according to the learning method received. For future researchers, this research has several limitations that have been described in the discussion section. Future researchers can take qualitative research methods with other factors so that they can add insight and other knowledge. on other variables that can be appropriate variables.
