Abstract

Emergency contact is a number used as a liaison between the
borrower and the online loan manager. This emergency contact usually belongs to the borrower's relatives, family or friends. Inclusion of numbers in emergency contacts must have the approval of the number owner. Inclusion of a number in an emergency contact creates legal protection and compensation that must be obtained by the number owner. This research aims to explore and identify various legal regulations relating to protecting the rights of telephone number owners who are listed as emergency contacts without their consent. The focus of this research also includes provisions governing the right of the number owner to obtain
compensation for losses incurred as a result of the listing. By
understanding the existing regulations, it is hoped that we can provide a comprehensive picture of the legal measures that can be taken to protect the privacy and rights of number owners from detrimental actions. The research method used in this research is the normative juridical approach with the Statue Approach problem approach method, using library data collection techniques and using qualitative data analysis methods which analyze legal materials based on data. The results of the research show that legal protection for the number owner in the emergency contact whose number is included in the online loan emergency contact whose
legal basis is in article 1365 of the Civil Code, namely concerning Unlawful Actions (PMH). And the forms of legal steps that can be taken are nonlitigation and litigation legal steps.
