Abstract

Human communication skills play an important role in obtaining marriage satisfaction, especially during early adulthood. The purpose of this study was to determine whether interpersonal communication affects the marital satisfaction of early adulthood women in Malang Regency. This study is a quantitative study that uses purposive sampling as a sampling technique. Then psychological scale instruments were used to collect data for this study, namely the interpersonal communication scale and the marriage satisfaction scale. This study has a linearity of 0.000 which means there is a significant linear relationship between
the two variables. This correlation index value of 0.541 shows that the direction of the interpersonal communication variable has a positive relationship to the marriage satisfaction variable, which means that the higher the level of interpersonal communication, the higher the marriage satisfaction. Interpersonal communication affects 29.3% of marriage satisfaction and the remaining 70.7% is influenced by other variables. The quality of communication is needed for the sustainability of a relationship and someone to get satisfaction in their marriage.
