Abstract

Data from the Higher Education for Research and Technology and the Ministry of Education and Culture for Research and Technology show that there is a discrepancy between the number of graduates and the number of job vacancies. This causes students to experience a fear of failure within themselves. However, these problems can be overcome by having high self-efficacy among students. This research refers to the correlational quantitative approach. The instrument used is a scale of self-efficacy and fear of failure, with the data collection method using a Likert scale. The respondents in this study were 272 respondents obtained from the calculation of the Isaac & Michael formula. In this study, the authors used a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling technique. It can
be concluded, with the results of the hypothesis test showing -0.839 sig. 0.000 (p<0.05), that in this study there was a significant negative relationship between the variables used, namely self-efficacy and fear of failure.
