Abstract

Education is an important part of human survival, in the process, education is inseparable from the role of the teacher. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between gratitude and the meaningfulness of the lives of temporary teachers in Lawang District, Malang Regency. A total of 122 subjects in this study were non-permanent teachers. The measuring instrument in this study
uses an adaptation of the meaningfulness of life scale and the gratitude scale. Demographic data showing age, gender and length of service are the references in this study. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach, by using product moment correlation analysis, a correlation index hypothesis is obtained of 0.811, with a sig value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be seen that gratitude and the meaningfulness of life have a positive correlation. Furthermore, according to the calculation results, the gratitude variable has a significant effect on the meaningfulness of life variable. This means that the higher the level of gratitude, the higher the meaningfulness of the life of the nonpermanent teacher,
and vice versa. The results oF this study are expected to
help to understand the importance of gratitude and the
meaning of life for temporary teachers.
