Abstract

Many overseas students have low psychological well-being. One of the factors that influences the psychological well-being of low-income students is loneliness. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of loneliness on psychological well-being. The subjects in this research were 100 students who had migrated to Malang City using a purposive sampling technique. This research method is quantitative research. The psychological well-being scale has a validity coefficient of 0.363-0,660 and a reliability of 0.921. The loneliness scale has a validity coefficient of 0.399-0.761 and a reliability of 0.872. The research analysis technique uses a simple linear regression analysis test. The results of this study show F=39.066 with a significance of 0.000. The value of these results shows that there is an influence between loneliness and the psychological wellbeing of overseas students in Malang City. The influence of loneliness on psychological well-being is 28.5%.
