Abstract

The quarter life crisis is an important period in the age range of 18 to 29 years, where the individuals feel anxiety and restlessness because they begin to questioning the direction and meaning of life, what has been obtained, what feelings of happiness are being lived, and so many problems in their life. The psychological dynamics of social urges function to maintain life, control any events that cause stress, and attempt to change all problems that must be resolved according to their functions and obligations. The power pressure of social, family, friends, lecturers, parents or university for final semester students who are facing an emotional crisis can reduce anxiety, accepting what has been obtained is a psychological stage to protect individual healthy attitudes, and more believe in their self and have the ability. The subjects of this research are final
year students of Merdeka University Malang who are in the process of working on a thesis with 100 students. The sampling technique used proportional random sampling technique. This study uses a psychological scale data collection method in the form of a Likert scale consisting of two scales, namely, the quarter life crisis scale of 34 items (α = 0.828) and the social support scale of 22 items (α = 0.609). Analysis of the data used is the product moment person correlation. The results of this study obtained a correlation coefficient value (rxy) = -0.275
with p = 0.000 (p < 0.01) which indicates that there is a very influential negative relationship between social support and the quarter life crisis in final year students, therefore the hypothesis is accepted.
