Abstract

Mindset change of people in productive age about marriage is much influenced by the foreign cultures progress such as living single or cohabitation. Several studies reveal difference opinion about marital status affecting happiness and mental health, where happiness and mental health are measured by a scale of life satisfaction, feelings, and meaning of life which are components of quality of life. This research was conducted to determine whether there is a comparison of the quality of life of early adulthood reviewed by marital status. The measuring
instrument used in this study was the Likert scale which was distributed to 100 people in the age of 35 to 40 years. The results of the t-test is 0.015 which shows there are differences in the quality of life in early adults aged 35 to 40 years reviewed by marital status. The mean of being single is smaller than the mean of being married, being single is 64.08 while being married is 68.22. This means that early adults who married has a higher quality of life than those who are single.
