Abstract

The increase in internet technology users in adolescents increases the risk of cyberbullying. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and the tendency to cyberbully behavior among adolescents who use Instagram
social media. Measuring tools used in this study are self-esteem scale and cyberbullying behavior scale. This research method uses quantitative correlation. Sampling is using purposive sampling method. The total subjects in this study were
100 subjects. Test the validity of the scale using Pearson Product Moment and reliability is measured by calculating the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The results of hypothesis testing were carried out using Pearson Product Moment correlation
analysis to obtain a significance score of 0.000, meaning that the significance level has a p value <0.05. Then the hypothesis is accepted and it can be concluded that there is a negative relationship between the variable self-esteem and cyberbullying
behavior, which means that the higher the self-esteem of adolescents, the lower the tendency of adolescents to become perpetrators of cyberbullying, and vice versa, the lower the self-esteem, the higher the tendency of cyberbullying in adolescents.
