Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on society, one of which is worker layoffs. Workers’ lives after layoffs are not easy, though social support from various parties is required because then workers can adapt to difficult situations, which is referred to as resilience. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of social support on resilience. This research is non-experimental quantitative. The sample used in this study was 130 workers who experienced layoffs in Kuta District, Badung Regency with using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is a Likert scale with a social support scale (21 valid) and a resilience scale (37 valid). The reliability coefficient of the social support variable is 0,914 and resilience variable is 0,903. The result of the hypothesis indicates that there is an effect of social support on resilience of 73,2% with a significance of 0,000 < 0,05.
