Abstract

Anxiety is generally felt by every individual. No exception for students who are working on a thesis. There are various kinds of challenges and difficulties when working on a thesis. This has the potential to create a tendency to anxiety in students. Anxiety occurs when a person feels unable to deal with something. Feelings of inadequacy can affect the abilities possessed by students, because they are doubtful. Self-efficacy is an individual's belief in his ability to deal with situations and complete a task, and achieve the specified goals. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-efficacy on the anxiety tendencies of students who were working on their thesis in Malang City. Using quantitative methods. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling of 100 students who were working on their thesis in Malang City. The research instrument used a self-efficacy scale (48 valid), and an anxiety tendency scale (58 valid). Data analysis used simple linear regression analysis. The results of the hypothesis test between self-efficacy and anxiety were obtained at -8.669, it can be concluded that there is an influence between the self-efficacy variable and the contribution of 43.4% to the anxiety variable.
