Abstract

Working is a primary choice for students who attend high school. However, according to the existing phenomenon, there are still many high school graduates who have not found jobs. One of the factors that causes a large number of high school students to remain unemployed is the lack of optimism in students. Job readiness is the ability to form knowledge and expertise used in the work world. Vocational High School (SMK) is one of the formal schools that goal to prepare students for entering employment. This study goals to find out the effect of optimism on job readiness in high school class XII students in Bangil District. The research population of 1220 class XII SMK students in Bangil District. A measuring instrument used in this research is working with 41 aitem readiness scale the coefficients moving from 0,366-0,643 and scale of optimism with 27 aitem the coefficient moving from 0,375-0,742. The validity of using formulas product moment and reliability test with the formula the coefficient alpha .Test the hypothesis is performed by the use the formula linear regression analysis technique that produces the coefficient of 20,408 with p value 0,000 ( p < 0.05 ). The resulting from the x and y at 94,6 %. Meaningful that there is the influence of significantly optimism about the readiness of the work at a student of class xii smk bangil sub distric. Interpreted the higher the level of optimism to their students then it would be more high have also readiness work owned .On the other hand , when optimism to their students low , so readiness work owned students was also low.
