Abstract

Students who are working on a thesis will definitely experience obstacles in compiling a thesis such as low motivation, laziness, demands to graduate immediately, and others. Obstacles that cannot be overcome during the thesis preparation process will develop into negative feelings such as stress, anxiety, feelings of inferiority and loss of motivation. To overcome obstacles and pressures in working on a thesis requires resilience that is the ability to survive, be resilient and able to go through difficult circumstances. Self compassion becomes one of the sources for deep resilience through various obstacles and pressures in completing the thesis. This study was conducted to see the influence of self compassion on the resilience of senior students at University of Merdeka Malang. The sample in this study amounted to 100 senior students who were working on a thesis at University of Merdeka Malang. Uses purposive sampling techniques in the form of likert scales. Hypotheses in this study reveal that there is an influence between self compassion on the resilience of senior students who are working on thesis at University of Merdeka Malang. The self- compassion variable had a 33.5% effect on resilience in senior students and the remaining 66.5% was influenced by other factors.
