Abstract

Early adult social media users who use social media maladaptively can affect individual psychological well-being. Social media is believed to reduce performance and stress, lead to experiences of loneliness, and potentially affect psychological well being due to increasingly advanced technology. This study has a goal based on the problem that has been formulated, namely, to determine the relationship between fear of missing out and psychological well-being in early adult social media users (18-25 years). The population in this study has social media users of early adulthood (18-25 years old) The population size is unknown (infinite) in this study Based on calculations using the Lemmeshow formula with a sampling error of 10%, this study involved 100 subjects. The results of hypothesis testing show that there is a negative relationship between FOMO and psychological wellbeing with negative direction. This means that the higher the FoMO, the lower the psychological well-being in early adult social media users And conversely, the lower the FoMO, the higher the psychological well being in early adult social media users. Therefore, the proposed hypothesis can be accepted
