Abstract

Jealousy is a major problem for students in dating. One of the factors that influence jealousy is self-esteem. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-esteem and jealousy in dating students. This study used a
quantitative method with a correlation approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with consideration of dating students aged 18-25 years. The number of subjects in this study were 385 respondents. The research instrument used a self-esteem scale with a reliability coefficient value of 0.899 and a jealousy scale with a reliability coefficient value of 0.881. The data analysis technique used Pearson's product moment correlation test. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between self-esteem and jealousy in dating students.
