Abstract

A thesis is a scientific work that follows scientific research procedures, usually prepared by undergraduate students as one of the requirements for obtaining a bachelor's degree (Mukhtamar, 2009). Anxiety in individuals can be divided into four levels, namely mild anxiety, moderate, severe, and panic (Videbeck, 2008). Students who have high self-awareness generally have the skills to control themselves, read social situations, understand other people, and know the expectations that other people have of them (Listyowati, 2008). This research aims to determine the effect of self-awareness on anxiety about writing a thesis in final year students. This research uses quantitative research methods. The instruments used in this research were a self-awareness scale and an anxiety scale for working on a thesis. The population in this study were students who were working on their thesis. The number of subjects in this research were 92 students selected using the accidental sampling method. Data analysis using a simple linear regression test with the help of SPSS software. Based on the results of the linear regression test, the F value is 2.844, a significant value of 0.095, indicating that selfawareness does not have a significant effect on anxiety about working on a thesis
