Abstract

Academic procrastination is a tendency that exists within an individual to deliberately postpone academic assignments or lectures. The emergence of procrastination behavior in students is thought to be caused by gender differences. This research aims to find out whether there are differences in academic procrastination among students based on gender. This research uses a quantitative approach with a comparative research design. The number of subjects in this research was 400 students, 200 male students and 200 female students using the purposive sampling method. The psychological scale data collection method uses a Likert scale. The research instrument used was the academic procrastination scale. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney U test. The result of the Mann-Whitney U test was 0.743, with a sig. (p) is 0.458 > 0.05 and the average score obtained for female students is 86.50 and the score for male students is 84.71 so it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between male students and female students in terms of procrastination academic
