Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and housewives' stress. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of correlation. The population used is 3,128 people in Banjarejo Village, Donomulyo District, Malang Regency. The sample of this study was 60 subjects and had the following criteria: women who had given birth and mothers aged between 20-40 years. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data collection technique uses the Social Support Scale which consists of 22 items with a reliability coefficient of 0.699. The stress scale consists of 47 items with a reliability coefficient of 0.857. The correlation results show that there is a significance level of 0.001 (<0.05) the relationship between social support and stress, and the person correlation value is -0.406. This shows a negative direction so that the higher the social support received, the lower the stress experienced, and vice versa, the lower the social support received, the higher the level of stress experienced.
