Abstract

Dating is a meeting process between a man and a woman to form a relationship and get to know each other. Positive courtship can lead individuals to think in a healthy manner, while negative courtship can lead to fights to violence. This study aims to determine the relationship between attachment and the tendency of dating violence in adolescents. The research method used is quantitative correlation. The sampling technique used purposive sampling as many as 400 respondents. The psychological scale data collection method refers to the Likert scale. Attachment scale items (46 are valid) and the tendency to violence in dating (33 are valid) with a reliability coefficient of 0.659 attachments and 0.812 tendencies towards dating violence. Data analysis used correlation analysis through SPSS version 23 program. The results of hypothesis testing through attachment correlation analysis with a tendency to violence in dating were 0.000 <0.05 and the t value was -0.175. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that there is a significant negative relationship between attachment and a tendency to violence in dating. This shows that the higher the level of attachment of adolescents with their parents, the lower the tendency of adolescents to commit violence in dating. Conversely, the lower the level of attachment between adolescents and their parents, the higher the tendency of adolescents to commit violence in dating.
