Abstract

Hardcore music fans have their own way of expressing themselves when attending hardcore music events by engaging in violence dance. Violence dance is considered aggressive behavior as it can trigger fights among spectators and cause chaos if done without good self-control. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between aggressive behavior and self-control among hardcore music fans in Malang. This research uses a quantitative research method. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. The subjects of this study were 100 hardcore music fans in Malang. The research scale used is the self-control scale and the aggressive behavior scale. The hypothesis test results using the Pearson product-moment correlation test obtained a correlation index of -0.340 with a significance value of 0.001 (p<0.05). This indicates that there is a significant negative relationship between self-control and aggressive behavior among hardcore music fans. The results show that the higher the self-control, the lower the aggressive behavior among hardcore music fans. Conversely, the lower the self-control, the higher the aggressive behavior among hardcore music fans
