Abstract

Homesickness is prone to occur when someone is away. This usually occurs because the individual is far from home. One of them is a student. Homesickness is usually experienced due to several factors and one of them is a lack of social support. This research aims to determine the influence of peer social support on homesickness in students. The methodology in this research is quantitative with the number of participants being 100 active student respondents from the Faculty of Psychology, Merdeka University, Malang. This study used the Homesickness Questionnaire (HQ) scale to measure Homesickness scores and the Peer Social Support Scale. The research used a simple linear regression analysis technique and obtained a regression coefficient value of 0.265 and a correlation coefficient value of -0.198. With this it can be concluded that peer social support has a negative influence on homesickness
