Abstract
The presence of e-commerce provides convenience in supporting the fulfillment of human needs with an online shopping system. The process of shopping online can have a negative impact if done excessively, often referred to as "consumptive behavior" which results in individuals spending money that results in gaps in the social environment. The existence of self-control has an important role so that individual behavior can be directed well, including preventing consumer behavior. Consumerist behavior is an action that is carried
out more than the use of goods. Self-control is the activity of controlling behavior to do consideration about deciding something before acting. This study aims to determine the effect of self-control on consumer behavior by online shopping for fashion products in the late teens in Malang. The research method used is quantitative. The population used is the late teens in Malang. The sample used as many as 100 people with an age range of 18-21 years. Sampling technique by applying purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using the Likert scale. The data obtained is then processed using SPSS software for Windows. The hypothesis test results using a simple linear regression analysis with an R-square value obtained from the variable self-control of consumptive
behavior is 0.502. This shows that the effect of self-control on the consumptive behavior of online shopping for fashion products in the late teens in Malang is 50.2%, while the rest is influenced by other factors that are not mentioned in this
