Abstract

The behavior of narcissistic personality disorder tendencies in adolescents is caused by the increasing use of social networks and the lack of strong individual moral control, so good self-control is needed in order not to increase the risk of narcissistic personality disorder tendencies. This study aims to prove the influence of self-control on the behavior of narcissistic personality disorder tendencies. The research has been conducted on 104 teenagers aged 18 years to 21 years who use Instagram. The method of collecting this research is through google form. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method. Research data were collected using the Brief Self Control Scale (BSCS) self-control adaptation scale and the narcissistic personality disorder tendency scale prepared based on the characteristics in DSM V. The results of hypothesis analysis concluded that there is an influence of self-control on the behavior of narcissistic personality disorder tendencies in late adolescents who use Instagram with a significance value of 0.047 <0.05
