Abstract

Self-confidence is an individual's attitude towards their own abilities, values, and potential. This includes a strong understanding of one's ability to face various situations in a positive assessment of oneself, as well as the belief in achieving goals and overcoming challenges in life. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of body image on self-confidence in adolescent victims of body shaming. This study uses a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were adolescents who were victims of body shaming with a sample size of 100 respondents. The measuring instrument in this study used a questionnaire consisting of a body image scale and a self-confidence scale. The data collection technique used quota sampling. The results of hypothesis testing using simple linear regression with a significance level of 0.00 were obtained (p < 0.05). Thus, from the results of the research that has been conducted, it can be concluded that there is an effect of body image on self-confidence in adolescent victims of body shaming
