Abstract
Many women with postpartum anxiety disorders often experience symptoms that are different from other normal symptoms. After giving birth, mood can affect the decline in hormone levels, causing instability in psychological conditions, which include feelings of tension, worry and fear. The phenomenon from BCC Indonesia (2018) is a woman who experiences anxiety after giving birth to her first child, and ultimately tries to commit suicide with her child. This decision was taken because she was worried about her baby's condition and felt there was no attention or place to express her complaints. The research results of Suriati, Wamena, Hasita (2022) show that low social support increases the risk of anxiety in postpartum mothers, compared to the condition of postpartum mothers who receive high social support. This research aims to determine the effect of social support on postpartum anxiety in primigravida mothers. This study aims to determine the effect of social support on postpartum anxiety in primigravida mothers. The population of this study were women experiencing childbirth for the first time (primigravida) and a sample of 100 subjects. The research method uses purposive sampling. The data collection technique uses a social support scale instrument based on aspects from Annisa Helvian (2019) and a postpartum anxiety scale based on aspects of Nevid, Jeffrey S (2005). This research uses a quantitative approach to linear regression testing with the results obtained by a calculated f value of 0.885 with a significance level of 0.349>0.05. It was concluded that the research data could be said to have no significant effect of social support on postpartum anxiety in primigravida mothers, thus the research hypothesis was rejected
