Abstract

Altruism behavior at this time has decreased a lot. The rapid development of technology makes individuals tend to be selfish and start to care less about otherpeople. self-control has an important role in social life, especially in the campusenvironment. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-controlon the altruistic behavior of Javanese students. The sample in this research was100 Javanese students. This type of research uses a quantitative approach. Thesampling technique for this research uses the Accidental Sampling technique. Dataanalysis uses linear regression analysis. The measuring instruments used in thisresearch are a self-control scale and an altruism scale in the form of a Likert scale.Testing with simple linear regression shows a significance value of 0.728>0,05,this shows that there is no significant influence between self-control on altruisticbehavior in Javanese students. The effective contribution of self-control to altruisticbehavior is 1%
