Abstract

This research was conducted because with adequate self-confidence, individualscan easily adapt to a new environment, are able to face problems and havepositive beliefs about themselves so that they can achieve success in adjusting themselves. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship betweenself-confidence and self-adjustment among overseas students from outside Java. This research is a quantitative research using correlational research methods. The research instrument used is the self-confidence scale and self-adjustment scale. The number of subjects in this study were 90 students using purposive sampling method. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between self-confidence and self-adjustment in students (r = 0.970; p= 0.000). This means that the higher the self-confidence, the higher the self adjustmentand conversely if the self-confidence is low, the self-adjustment is also low.
