Abstract

In the era of the industrial revolution 5.0, human resources are expected tobe able to keep up with technology that is developing very quickly. Teachers play an important role in preparing human resources to face the industrial revolution 5.0 era. Elementary school teachers occupy the most important position because they provide early education. Elementary school teachersare required to complete administrative tasks, guide and teach students, and become role models in the surrounding environment at the same time. The demands and tasks faced by elementary school teachers have the potentialto trigger job stress. One of the factors that trigger job stress is the lack of sense of humor in individuals. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effect of sense of humor on job stress in elementary school teachers. This study was conducted using 20 subjects of teachers of SDN Polehan 5 Malang with non-probability sampling technique through saturation sampling (saturated sample) and measured using sense of humorand work stress scale. The results of hypothesis testing show a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 with an R Square value of = 0.183, this indicates that sense of humor is able to exert an influence of 18.3% on job stress in elementary school teachers. The author's suggestion for elementary schoolteachers is that they need to interact with jokes between teachers and schedule activities together with teachers to increase their sense of humor so that the work stress of elementary school teachers decreases.
