Abstract

Students are individuals with an age range of 18-29 years. Where students will experience a lot of academic and non-academic pressures. So the need for self-efficacy or high self-confidence to be able to get through it. But in fact, not all students have high self-efficacy. A survey at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Merdeka Malang, showed that some students have low self-efficacy. So the need for social support to improve student self-efficacy. The closest support is the social support of the family. So research was conducted to determine the influence of family social support on self- efficacy in students at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Merdeka Malang. The sampling technique is stratified random sampling. Data collection method with Likert scale. The items used are the family social support scale and the self-efficacy scale. The subjects of the study totaled 89 subjects. The results of measuring the reliability of the family social support scale are 0.316 – 0.628 and the self-efficacy scale is 0.318 – 0.521. This study uses simple linear regression data analysis with the help of the SPSS V.26 application. The results of the hypothesis test of simple linear regression analysis were 0.00 < 0.05 meaning that there was an influence of family social support on self-efficacy of 34.1%.
