Abstract

The frequent occurrence of disputes in marriage indicates disharmony between husband and wife. Disputes often cause conflict in marriages which result in not achieving a harmonious marriage and ending in divorce. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency, Kediri Regency ranks sixth for the highest divorce rate in the East Java region. This study aims to determine the effect of emotional maturity on marital harmony in early adulthood in Kediri Regency. This research was conducted using quantitative methods. The measuring instrument used uses an emotional maturity scale based on aspects according to Katkvosky and Gorlow and a marital harmony scale based on aspects according to Moeslim's theory. Respondents in this study amounted to 100 individuals with individual criteria aged 20-40 years during marriage and at least 1 year of marriage. In this study using purposive sampling technique for sampling. This study was processed using SPSS 20. This study used Simple Linear Regression Analysis with the results showing that there is a positive relationship between the independent variable (emotional maturity) and the dependent variable (marital harmony) with a significance level of 0.00 <0.05. Based on the simple linear regression test table, the R Square value shows 0,800. From these results it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between emotional maturity on marital harmony.
