Abstract
Malang Waste Bank (BSM) is an institution with cooperative law whose establishment was facilitated by the Malang City Government through the Department of Cleanliness and Parks to assist in empowering the community to actively participate in processing waste from its source (households). The main problem in waste management in Malang is the low access to waste management services.
The formulation of the research problem is: 1. How is Waste Processing Implemented at the Malang Waste Bank (BSM) Sukun District, Malang City; 2. What are the driving and inhibiting factors in implementing waste processing at the Malang Waste Bank (BSM), Sukun sub-district, Malang city. This research is descriptive qualitative in nature using data analysis techniques according to Milles and Hubernan, namely the Interactive Model.
The results of this research are: The implementation of waste processing at the Malang Waste Bank (BSM) Sukun District, Malang City follows the mechanism: a) Waste sorting, which is still done manually, b) Handing over waste to the waste bank, carried out in 2 ways, namely direct customers come to BSM or officers who pick up trash from customers depending on the amount of trash; c) Weighing waste; Recording is done digitally. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor is the low level of community enthusiasm and participation in sorting waste from their homes; the number of officers at BSM is still insufficient...
