Abstract
In the international glass, turtles in Indonesian marine waters are included in the red list on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) this shows where turtles are animals that are threatened with extinction. To contribute to preserving these turtles, the community in Bajulmati Beach established a turtle conservation site called Bajulmati Sea Turtle Conservation. However, in its implementation, there are conflict dynamics that occur there. This study aims to determine the dynamics of conflicts that occur in the implementation of turtle conservation programs in Bajulmati Beach, Malang Regency.
This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with secondary data collection techniques, observation, interviews, and documentation. This research was conducted in Bajulmati Beach, Malang Regency. The informant in this study was Mr. Sutari as the chairman of the Bajulmati Sea Turtle Conservation institution.
The results of the study are the dynamics of conflicts that occur due to differences in interests between conservation activist community groups with fishing community groups and tourism management community groups. Where fishermen will continue to catch turtle eggs to sell or just eat. Because for them it is one of their livelihoods. Efforts to resolve conflicts are also driven by the Bajulmati Sea turtle Conservation institution by taking a direct approach to fishing community groups and community groups managing tourist attractions.
