Abstract

Stunting is still a public health problem in developing countries such as Indonesia. In the 2020 – 2024 RPJMN, it is stated that reducing stunting is one of the government's priority programs with a stunting prevalence target of 14%. Stunting is a condition where children under five years (toddlers) have a shorter body compared to other children their age. Malang City is one of the administrative regions of the Indonesian state in the province of East Java. The prevalence of stunting in the city of Malang will reach 18.0% in 2022.
This research aims to find out, describe and analyze the implementation of stunting prevention policies in Malang City, as well as what are the inhibiting factors in implementing stunting prevention policies in Malang City.
In this research, the author used a descriptive qualitative approach method. The location of this research is the Malang City Health Service. The informants or sources in this research are the State Civil Apparatus of the Malang City Health Service who have the authority to implement stunting prevention policies in Malang City.
The results of this research show that the implementation of stunting prevention policies in Malang City has been implemented quite well with 4 indicators of successful policy implementation according to George Charles Edward III, namely Communication, Resources, Disposition and Organizational Structure. The implementation of the stunting prevention policy in the city of Malang is in accordance with the Decree of the Mayor of Malang Number: 188.45/118/35.73.112/2022 concerning the Formation of a Team for the Acceleration of Reducing Stunting.
