Abstract

Indonesia is experiencing a demographic bonus from 2020 to 2030, a phenomenon when the number of productive age population is greater than nonproductive. So that it requires the active role of the younger generation in bringing the Indonesian state towards a better and more advanced direction. The creativity and ideas of the younger generation have the potential to encourage or develop the growth of the creative economy in Indonesia. So that the younger generation must have sufficient skills or abilities to be able to compete in the international scope. Therefore, the government must be able to support the development of the competencies of the younger generation. There are several problems faced by the younger generation, including limited platforms to develop their competencies, there are several young people who do not have jobs, do not have skills in the fields they want, lack of experience and relationships with business clients.
The East Java Provincial Government created the East Java Super Corridor (EJSC) as a forum for developing the creativity of the younger generation with the hope that the younger generation has skills or abilities that are in accordance with market demand and is able to produce a digitally literate younger generation. This research aims to describe and analyze the performance of East Java Super Corridor (EJSC) Bakorwil III Malang in developing young generation competence, supporting factors and inhibiting factors in the performance of East Java Super Corridor (EJSC) Bakorwil III Malang in developing young generation competence. Researchers hope that the results of this study can develop science and become a reference for future researchers. In addition, it can provide new ideas or valuable input for East Java Super Corridor (EJSC) Bakorwil III Malang.
This research uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used in this research are interviews, observation, and documentation. Interview with Advisor East Java Super Corridor (EJSC) Bakorwil III Malang, talents, mentors and clients. This research was conducted at East Java Super Corridor (EJSC) Bakorwil III Malang.
The results showed that the performance of EJSC Bakorwil III Malang in developing the competence of the younger generation was very good. with satisfactory productivity and service quality. This is evidenced by all programs or activities have been running well, according to the plans, targets and goals that have been set. In addition, the quality of service can be seen from the increasing number of visitors who come to the East Java Super Corridor (EJSC) Bakorwil III Malang every month and every year. Their responsiveness is proven by the implementation of various activities that suit the needs of the community, such as the Millennial Job Center (MJC) program. They also show good responsibility and accountability, with the implementation of activities according to Standard Operating Procedures and regular accountability reports. This performance is influenced by supporting factors such as internal and external support, good communication, the use of the Trello application, and the readiness of competent talents and mentors. However, there are also inhibiting factors such as poor communication between talents and clients, honesty of talents about their abilities, differences in understanding between talents, mentors and clients, and an incomplete database of talents' abilities.
