Abstract

The patriarchal culture that is still entrenched in Indonesia places a doubleburden on women and limits their opportunities to work and develop. Therefore,efforts are needed to create gender equality in society, one of which is in theeconomic aspect in accordance with Law Number 20 of 2008 concerning MSMEs.Many women in Indonesia are involved in MSMEs. Therefore, efforts to empowerMSMEs also have an impact on women's empowerment. Many training programshave been implemented in Mulyorejo Subdistrict, although they have supportingand inhibiting factors such as easy access to providing capital for businesscontinuity for women entrepreneurs, maximum product marketing processes andintroduction of MSME products, training programs that are already good but arestill not well targeted. and the ability to use technology is still lacking.The formulation of the problem in this research is how to empower womenthrough increasing MSMEs in Mulyorejo Village, Sukun District, Malang City andthe driving factors and inhibiting factors in efforts to empower women throughincreasing MSMEs in Mulyorejo Village, Sukun District, Malang City. Thisresearch uses a qualitative descriptive research type with data collectiontechniques carried out through 3 methods, some of them namely observation,interviews and documentation. The author uses the data analysis model proposedby Miles, Huberman and Saldana which includes data collection, datacondensation, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of thisresearch indicate that efforts to empower women through increasing MSMEs inMulyorejo Village, Sukun District, Malang City can be said to be quite good inhelping to build women's potential as well as providing capital for the sustainabilityof businesses owned by women business actors in Mulyorejo Village, Sukun KotaDistrict. Poor.
