Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the role of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in the Management of Village Funds in Kalisongo Village, Dau District, Malang Regency. This research uses qualitative methods based on field studies that are considered appropriate to reveal the events thatoccur. The researcher became the first instrument of the research to obtain datacollection, documentation, and participant observation to obtain complete and detailed data. Interviews were conducted with the village government who runsthe administration, the Village Consultative Body (BPD), and one person as arepresentative of the community, totaling 4 informants.The results of this study conclude that the role of BPD in the management ofvillage funds is carried out by conveying ideas regarding the management ofvillage funds, supervising or monitoring the management of village funds,evaluating, and criticizing the village head's report on the management of villagefunds. The Village Consultative Body (BPD) is a body formed by the governmentand serves as a working partner in the village government in managing villagefunds so that the community can find out and there is no misunderstandingbetween the community and the village government. The role of the VillageConsultative Body (BPD) is to strengthen participation by inviting active citizensin development activities, communicating well with the community, and carryingout the values of deliberation, consensus of the family process, and mutualcooperation in making decisions regarding public policy. The role of the VillageConsultative Body (BPD) in managing village funds includes conveying ideas regarding the management of village funds as a determinant of priorities for theimplementation of village fund management with the consideration of the villagehead. Although the Village Fund management carried out by the villagegovernment is good, the community's understanding of the Village Fund policy isstill low.The obstacles faced by the BPD in managing village funds include the lowlevel of Human Resources (HR) of the Kalisongo Village community and theseniority term between the Kalisongo BPD as a priority determinant of villagefund management. The solution to overcome these obstacles is to increase cooperation between the village government, BPD, and the community so thatthere are no mistakes and irregularities made by the village government apparat us so that it can be carried out properly and orderly administration.
