Abstract

Indonesia is a democratic country that is obliged to protect the rights of all itscitizens, without exception including those with special circumstances (childrenwith disabilities) and are expected to provide protection for persons withdisabilities, because they are citizens who have the right to have positions,obligations and roles. which is the same as others from all aspects of life inaccordance with existing regulations, one of which is in Malang City, namelyMalang City Regulation No.In this regard, the purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the effortsto protect and empower children with disabilities in the Lentera Kasih Associationof Malang City. The purpose of this research is to contribute ideas about theoriesand activities towards the protection and empowerment of children with disabilities.The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. The techniquesused in data collection are interviews, observation and documentation. Techniquesused in data analysis are data collection, condensation, data display or datapresentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results of the researchshow that the Protection and Empowerment Efforts for Children with Disabilitieshave been running well, but there are a few obstacles and it is necessary to improvestrategies or techniques in an effort to cooperate.
