Abstract

Online gambling is a fun activity because it is accompanied by passion and a tense sensation when playing which can lead to high hopes for victory. This causes online gambling players to be increasingly out of control. In these conditions, self-control is needed to reduce the impact of online gambling tendency. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and tendency to the online gambling game Higgs domino among students in Malang City. Quantitative methods were chosen in this study, so as to produce data in the form of numbers (numeric). The measuring instrument used in this study is the Likert scale which refers to aspects of self-control and tendency to online gambling games. The population in this study were students in the city of Malang, amounting to 247,027 students. The results of the study from 100 respondents showed that the level of self-control and addiction to online gambling games was in the high category. The results showed a significance value (p) of 0.355 (p>0.05), these results indicate that the hypothesis in this study is accepted, namely that there is a relationship between self-control and tendency to the online gambling game higgs domino in students in Malang City. Meanwhile, the correlation index was -0.280 (p.0.05), these results concluded that self-control has a negative relationship with online gambling game tendency behavior.
