Abstract
Concrete has a significant deficiency, namely having a weak tensile strength. Thisstudy aims to identify the effect of adding bamboo fiber as a mixture material toincreasing flexural strength.Ori bamboo is 2 cm long, 0.05-0.1 cm wide and 0.1 cm thick. Concrete beamsare divided into 2 types of specimens, without fiber and using fiber. Without fiber,3 specimens and concrete with fiber, 12 specimens. Fiber content 0%, 1%, 1.5%,2%, 2.5%. The test will be carried out when the concrete is 28 days old using aflexural beam testing tool (ASTM C-78).Based on the results of flexural strength with fiber content of 0%, 1%, 1.5%,2%, 2.5% respectively 6.17 Mpa, 7.43 Mpa, 8.13 Mpa, 9.73 Mpa, 8, 84 MPa. Thehighest value of flexural strength was in population 4 fiber concrete with 2% fibercontent of 9.73 MPa. While the lowest flexural strength value occurs in population2 of 7.43 MPa. From the results that have been done, the addition of ori bamboofiber has an effect on increasing the value of the flexural strength of concrete.
